Terms of Service

SafeReach is a platform for reporting missing persons, submitting sightings, and coordinating a community and organizational response. SafeReach is not an official emergency alerting system — it does not replace police, your local emergency number, or your country's official public alerting system. If someone is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first, before or alongside using SafeReach.

You must provide accurate registration information and are responsible for keeping your account secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. A minor may be the subject of a report without holding an account themselves.

By submitting a report, you're representing that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Every report is reviewed by a moderator before it can become visible to anyone beyond you and our moderation team.

Filing a knowingly false report — including as a means of harassing, monitoring, or locating someone without a genuine safety concern — is a serious misuse of this service. It will result in account suspension and may have legal consequences beyond SafeReach.

You agree not to:

• Impersonate another person, organization, or SafeReach staff.
• Post harassing, defamatory, or knowingly false content, including in comments.
• Attempt to bypass the moderation or verification process.
• Use information from this platform to harm the person it's about, or anyone else.
• Automate access to the service in a way that circumvents its normal use.

We can remove content, restrict a case's visibility, or suspend an account that violates these terms, at our discretion and without prior notice where safety requires it.

Some content you see — a report summary, a sighting summary, an incident category suggestion — may be generated with the help of AI. These are suggestions reviewed by a human moderator before any decision is made; they are never authoritative on their own, and we don't guarantee their accuracy. The original text you submit always remains the authoritative record.

Organizations and law-enforcement accounts get access to additional case detail after a separate verification process. That access is granted for the purpose of case coordination and response, and may be revoked if used outside that purpose.

You retain rights to the content you submit. By submitting a report, sighting, comment, or photo, you give SafeReach a license to display, distribute, and share it as part of operating the service — including sharing it publicly once a moderator verifies it, since public visibility is often what helps locate a missing person. You can request that we stop displaying content you submitted, subject to the retention considerations in our Privacy Policy.

SafeReach is provided "as is." We don't guarantee that using this service will result in a missing person being found, that a report will be reviewed within any particular time, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

SafeReach is currently operated directly by its founder(s), not by a separate registered legal entity. To the fullest extent permitted by law, SafeReach and the individuals operating it are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on any AI-generated suggestion, sighting report, or case information submitted by another user. [This clause needs to be redrafted by qualified counsel once a legal entity is formed — personal-liability language like this is not a substitute for proper incorporation.]

SafeReach does not yet have a registered legal entity, so no governing jurisdiction has been formally established for these terms. [Placeholder — once SafeReach is incorporated, this section should name that entity and the jurisdiction whose laws govern these terms.]

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use SafeReach after a change means you accept the updated terms.
